ECU Firmware v2.33

For use on v2.30 hardware or higher ONLY. Not compatible with lower hardware.

Minor update, bug fix only.

Fixes/changes:

  • Fixes a bug where the controller would switch to VO if the engine is hot, tank is empty and it is within the first 5 seconds of starting.

ECU Firmware v2.31

For use on v2.30 hardware or higher ONLY. Not compatible with lower hardware.

Minor update, affects tach feature only.

Fixes/changes:

  • Updated internal logic to handle high frequency hall sensor inputs for tachometer.
  • Updated controller logic to save/report more robust preferences to laptop client.

ECU Firmware v2.30

For use on v2.30 hardware or higher ONLY. Not compatible with lower hardware.

Fixes/changes:

  • Fuel pressure changes
    • Now displays on the 2nd line, alternating with fuel level, instead of alternating with fuel/coolant temp display.
    • Now displays in bar instead of kPa in metric units mode. KPa units are too small and jumped around too much, bar units are easier to comprehend and compare on the fly.
    • Vacuum sensing (0-100psi absolute) support is now supported and sensors are available through us.
  • Clear fault button label now reads what the fault is.
  • Implemented 2nd gen tach circuitry software that is compatible with a much wider range of vehicles.
    • Implements Purge on Idle - purges your vehicle if it is sitting idle for long periods of time. This was a highly requested feature for commercial and/or heavy duty vehicles.

ECU Hardware v2.30

Improvements:

  • Controller now uses wiring harnesses for wire connections instead of screw terminals.
    • Wires have their function printed along their entire length as well as being color coded for extra clarity and faster installs.
  • Completely changed tech sensing circuitry to allow compatibility with a much wider range of vehicles.

ECU Firmware v2.21

For use on v2.05 hardware and higher. Recommended upgrade for all users with 2.05 or higher hardware. Recommended replacement for v2.20 firmware.

Fixes include:

  • Fixed a bug in VOdometer memory addressing, now keeps track of time better.
  • Fixed a bug whereby the controller would not purge to diesel when the VO fuel tank got low on fuel.

ECU Firmware v2.20

For use on v2.05 hardware and higher. Recommended upgrade for all users with 2.05 or higher hardware.

Changes include:

  • When operating with a very low/empty tank: Old behavior was to not switch to VO and trigger a low fuel fault. Now the fault isn't triggered, it just doesn't switch to VO automatically.
  • Minimum fuel tank level for auto-switch set to 1 bar instead of 3 due to better accuracy of fuel level sender algorithms.
  • Fixed startup issue where it counted the first 7 seconds too quickly.
  • Fixed a bug where fuel pressure would only display in kPa regardless of whether Metric units were selected or not.
  • Fixed issue where Starter controllers that shared the fuel level sender with a physical fuel gauge would report the wrong fuel level to a laptop connected computer. To fully fix this, also download the latest VOCS Client as the bug was an interaction issue between both the controller software and the laptop software.
  • Software to interface with tach circuitry, allowing the following improvements:
    • Engine state determination (off/starting/on/purging/etc) is now enhanced when you set up the tachometer input. It uses a combination of tachometer and accessory signal inputs to determine engine state instead of just the accessory signal input. If no tach is configured it just uses the regular Acc line method.
  • Improved responsiveness to fast button presses.
  • Improved the responsiveness of illumination on the Starter button - button now changes color as soon as you press it instead of at fixed intervals that may or may not have coincided with the button press.
  • Implements generator option (periodically cycles back to Diesel to clean out system for constant-duty systems)
  • Change pressure sensor sampling to 10x a second. The pressure used and displayed is actually the average of the last 10 samples taken (previously was last 3 samples, so 7 samples were in effect "thrown out")
  • Compensated for non-linear nature of fuel level senders with a quadratic equation derived via statistical regression in the fuel measurement function. 25% on the gauge now really represents 25% fuel left in your tank. Same with 50%, etc.
  • Added "VOdometer" which logs and keeps track of your total time on VO vs. Diesel. Previously statistics were only displayed for the current trip. Now it you can determine your total time spent on VO and diesel to get a much better handle on your ROI.
  • Changed Diesel/VO timers (both trip and VOdometer) to only count time if the engine is running. Will not count any VO or Diesel runtime unless the engine is actually running.

Engines confirmed to be compatible with v2.05 hardware tach circuitry
